MixComm, an innovative millimeter wave pioneer with breakthrough 5G performance, today announced it has secured $8.6M in Series B funding led by existing investor, Kairos Ventures. These funds will be used to accelerate staffing and the introduction of its millimeter wave products.
5G has great potential but is challenged by the robustness of millimeter wave signals, the cost of deployment and power required. MixComm addresses these challenges with millimeter wave solutions offering industry leading output power and energy efficiency. Founded in 2017, MixComm has quickly leveraged many years of research and technology development at Columbia University combined with a very experienced management team.
“This new financing round reinforces our belief that MixComm will play a leading role in 5G by addressing the challenges standing in the way of its profitable deployment and adoption”, said Mike Noonen, CEO of MixComm. “We are thrilled with the support of our partner Kairos Ventures and the response to our millimeter wave technology and products.”
“mmWave 5G is at a critical juncture, with new technologies required for successful deployments over the next couple of years”, said Dr. Harish Krishnaswamy, MixComm CTO and co-founder. “Kairos has been our partner on this journey over the past couple of years and we look forward to this exciting next phase.”
“Kairos Ventures is thrilled to continue to support MixComm as they provide a critical enabling technology for the 5G revolution,” said Dr. Travis Blake, the Kairos Principal for Physical Sciences and MixComm Board Member. “We firmly believe that this exceptional team will deliver results that will change the world.”
